Dr. John F Lucas III is a general and vascular surgeon and Chief of Surgery at Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood Mississippi. He has a large surgical dialysis access practice in rural Mississippi and draws patients from Arkansas on the west to Alabama on the east. He has been a reviewer for the Journal of Vascular Access and has participated in five national clinical trials in vascular access. Dr. Lucas has been a frequent speaker at ASDIN, VASA and CiDA. He has participated in mission trips with Bridge of Life to create arteriovenous fistulas in adults in Jamaica and in children in Guatemala.
Dr. Lucas is the current VASA President after serving for several years on their Board of Directors. He is very passionate about dialysis access.
